The Company offers its members unequaled purchasing power and the ability to obtain substantial savings on almost every product and service that their practices require. In addition, Vision Source offers its members professional and staff development and practice management assistance while allowing them to maintain their independence. While optometry is the Company’s core business line, it has recently expanded into the dental market with the formation of its Smile Source subsidiary.

Background to the Transaction

Founded in 1991 by current CEO Glenn Ellisor, O.D., Vision Source has organically grown to become a market-leading company with an exceptional business model. In late 2010 Glenn and the management team were looking for a partner who could provide some liquidity for a select group of shareholders and also bring some fresh strategic perspective to the Company’s operations. The Vision Source management team chose Brazos as their partner because of the Firm’s track record investing in leading healthcare services companies, its alignment with management’s outlook and vision for the Company, and its local Texas presence. Brazos led a recapitalization in 2011 which allowed for the Vision Source management team to maintain a meaningful ownership position in the Company.
